Most people buying safety shoes focus on the toe cap rating and certification. The sole gets picked last — or not chosen at all. That's a mistake. The sole determines three things that affect your working day more than any other component:
1. Lifespan — the wrong sole for your environment degrades fast. PU in a chemical plant. Rubber on a dry indoor floor. Both fail prematurely. 2. Fatigue — sole weight is carried every single step for 10 hours. A heavier sole means more leg fatigue by afternoon. 3. Grip — different surfaces need different sole compounds. The right one grips.
